Dr. Fabien A. Basset
Dr. Basset has completed his doctorate in kinesiology from the Faculty of Medicine at the Université Laval.
He is an expert in sports performance enhancement and his scientific works integrate physiology, biomechanics and motor control into a global approach to study acute and chronic responses to exercise.
Dr. Basset is leading research programs on effects of fatigue on muscle coordination and muscle function; on effects of short-term normobaric hypoxia on physical performance; and on cardio-respiratory responses with exercise.
Besides his scientific activities Dr. Basset has coached national and international middle-distance runners and has served as exercise physiologist for the National Sport Centre in Montreal, mainly working with long- and middle-distance runners, cross-country skiers, long-track speed skaters, and triathletes.
