Another award for well-known alumnus

Mr. Wahl's list of accomplishments is longer than most his age. He is currently a PhD student in the Faculty of Medicine, a Student Entrepreneur National Champion and Founder of Definitions Wellness Safety Services. He also won the Canadian Student Entrepreneur championship in 2011. In 2005, he was named the BDC Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Newfoundland, and was a top three finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Atlantic Canada in 2007.

The GSEA is the final stage of an international series of competitions for students attending a recognized college or university, who own a business, are principally responsible for its operation and have been generating revenue for a minimum of six consecutive months. As the top graduate student entrepreneur in Canada, Mike travelled to the 2011 GSEA global finals, held in November in New York City, where he took the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to present his business to an international panel of entrepreneurs, renowned journalists and business people.

Mr. Wahl once said that the Memorial University's Masters in Kinesiology Science program has been a spring board for his success. "This journey would not have been possible without my master's degree and in particular with Memorial University. Focusing on individual attention, caring for your scholastic goals and not just being a student number were characteristics which endeared the program to me."
