Harlow Campus is opening its doors to Canada!

Save the Date: Memorial University Harlow Campus Open House and Tour – Field School Opportunity

You are invited to attend the Harlow Campus Open House on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., coinciding with the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Annual Conference, taking place Sept. 13-16 in Liverpool.

Memorial is seeking to partner with post-secondary institutions to explore field school agreements and partnership opportunities at Harlow Campus.

Memorial University’s Harlow Campus, located in the historic town of Old Harlow, Essex, United Kingdom, midway between London and Cambridge, has been providing students, faculty and researchers from Memorial with exceptional international opportunities for more than 45 years. Professional schools and academic departments at Memorial use the Harlow Campus to deliver ongoing and specialized one-time programming, internships and experiential learning. 10:30 a.m. – Introduction to Harlow Campus and Field school opportunities
11:15a.m. – Tour of Harlow Campus
12:00 p.m. – Working lunch: Youth Mobility in the Canadian Context
12:15 p.m. – Welcome from Sonja Knutson, Director of Internationalization, Memorial University
12:20 p.m. –Youth Mobility in the Canadian Context, presented by Liz Hong-Farrell and Maria-Cristina Paredes
12:40 p.m. – Allison Goodings, Trade Commissioner (Education), High Commission of Canada and and Nina Di Stefano, Trade Commissioner, International Education: The Trade Commissioner Service: how the TCS can help Canadian institutions establish strategic partnerships
12:50 p.m. – Kevin Van Cauter, British Council, Presentation on the student mobility from the British perspective
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Q&A and networking
2:30p.m. – Shuttle from Harlow Campus to Euston Railway Station for departure to Liverpool (normal transit time 1.5 hours, but subject to traffic delays)

Travel Information

For those arriving in the UK on Sept. 10 or 11, we are pleased to offer accommodations on Harlow Campus at a reasonable rate of £30.00 per night per room. The campus is an easy train ride from Liverpool Street. For those arriving on the morning of Monday, Sept. 12, a shuttle will depart Heathrow Airport for Harlow Campus at 9:00 a.m., arriving in time for the start of the open house. Everyone travelling from Heathrow Airport to Harlow Campus on Sept. 12 is welcome to avail of the free shuttle service. Return free shuttle service to Euston Railway Station on the afternoon of Sept. 12 is available to all confirmed participants.
