Staff

It is Memorial’s intention to work with employees individually to minimize, as much as possible, the impact that H1N1 illness will have on them.
  • Please learn about and practice prevention
  • Please phone your supervisor as soon as possible if you are being impacted by H1N1

If you suspect you have H1N1, please stay home until 24 hours after all symptoms have subsided. Contact your supervisor to let them know of your illness.

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador has advised that only individuals exhibiting serious H1N1 symptoms or who fall into a high risk health category should seek medical attention. For this reason, in the case of employees who are ill and absent from work because of the H1N1 virus, the University has waived the requirement to provide a medical certificate.

The University encourages employees returning to work after being ill with the H1N1 virus to self identify on the “Reason for Absence Form” in order to waive the requirement to provide a medical certificate.

Memorial's Human Resources Pandemic Plan has more information.
If you have questions, please contact your supervisor or the Department of Human Resources.
