To subscribe to the German-English Discussion Group RIBO-L, write an e-mail to the following address:

listserv@pete.uri.edu

In the body of the address write:

subscribe RIBO-L yourfirstname yourlastname

Don't write anything else. Just send the letter. You will soon receive an answer with instructions for participating in the list. You may read along for a time, but eventually you should write a letter in English introducing yourself. Address the letter to RIBO-L@pete.uri.edu (not to listserv. You write to listserv only to subscribe and sign off.) Then you may participate in the discussion at any time. You should write some German and some English each time. Mono-lingual letters are discouraged.

Remember, when you write to this list hundreds of people will read your letter. (When you write to your German penpal, only your penpal will read the letter.) You may reply to an individual instead of to the entire list by replying to "From" rather than "Reply to".
