Research Interests
I remain interested in Indigenous knowledge systems and their expression in the established wellness practices of First Nation, Inuit, and Métis communities. I believe that if we learn to be respectful allies while conducting research, then we might be invited back into the circles where these knowledge systems are honored. My current research project will explore the historic and contemporary relationship between land and wellness as captured in the ideologies of Nunatsiavut Inuit. I hope to learn about the practices that inform Land-Based Therapy and detail those practices pursuant to the values and interests of Nunatsiavut Inuit.
