ObituariesWilliam Anthony KearnsBill Kearns, a former faculty member in the department of History, passed peacefully away, surrounded by his family, at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site, in Ontario on Monday Dec. 10, 2007, at the age of 79. Donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Dr. Marshall LairdMarshall Laird passed away in New Zealand on Sept. 30, 2007. Dr. Laird was a professor and head of the Department of Biology from 1967-1972, and director of the Research Unit on Vector Pathology from 1972-1981. Dr. Laird also compiled the Bibliography of the Natural History of Newfoundland and Labrador, published in 1980. |
