Grenfell discussion to continue
An information session will be held in Corner Brook on Monday, Oct. 15, to update the college community on the Grenfell College governance issue. Dr. Axel Meisen will be presenting at the session, which is a continuation of an information session he held on Sept. 10 which was cut short because of time constraints.
“I ran out of time at the Sept. 10 session in Corner Brook and I made a commitment to return to Grenfell College to complete my presentation and to engage in discussion with the Grenfell community,” Dr. Meisen said. “Subsequent to that one, we had a very productive session on the same topic in St. John’s on Oct. 12. I think that many faculty and staff and students have opinions on the governance issue and they deserve an opportunity to get the latest information and to express their ideas to me and to others.”
The continued session will be held in room LC-301 on Monday, Oct. 15, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Members of the campus community are invited to attend. Dr. Meisen will explore some of the questions raised by the recent developments related to a new governance structure being proposed for Grenfell. Dr. Meisen’s presentation slides are on the web at www.mun.ca/marcomm/public_affairs/grenfell_news.php
Students, faculty and staff members are all encouraged to attend the session. A question-and-answer period will follow the information update.
A special website has been developed to inform the discussion of the various issues involved in the Grenfell matter.
The site, www.mun.ca/marcomm/public_affairs/grenfell_governance.php, includes most of the reports, stories and the various items of university news coverage on the issue.
See the Related Content links on the page to find those documents. As well, the site features an online forum where participants can share their comments on this important topic.
