Memorial idle

Student volunteers with MUN Project Green were spreading some useful environmental messages to motorists coming onto the St. John’s campus earlier this month. It was all part of an Idle Free Campaign aimed at creating a cleaner campus. From Sept. 11-14, students approached vehicles in front of the Arts and Education buildings to let them know they were in an idle free zone. Motorists are discouraged from keeping their vehicle’s engines running while waiting outside any Memorial building. The students handed out information pamphlets to motorists. The effort was co-ordinated by the Sustainability Office.
