ACE Memorial wins regionals, heads to national competition
Students in ACE Memorial will once again vie for the national championship and the chance to represent Canada in the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) World Cup when they compete in the ACE National Exhibition in mid-May.
The team swept the ACE Regional Exhibition in Halifax on March 6 and 7, winning both the HSBC SIFE Financial Challenge and the TD SIFE Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The presentation team for the financial education challenge focused on Think Green, a recycling program that teaches business skills to elementary school students; project BEGIN, a financial literacy program for high school students; and a new program currently under development for seniors. In the TD SIFE Entrepreneurship Challenge, ACE Memorial highlighted Launch Pad, the first and only student-run incubation centre in Canada.
The team is now focussing on the upcoming ACE National Exhibition in Toronto. ACE Memorial has won two national competitions and twice represented Canada in the SIFE World Cup. Last year, the team was first runner-up in the international competition.
