Barb Hunt, Visual Arts Program, Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, recently had three exhibitions in three countries, and also had work reproduced in two books. From the Inside Out: Feminist Art Then & Now (group exhibition), appeared at the Dr. M.T. Geoffrey Yeh Art Gallery, St. John’s University, New York, from Feb. 22 to April 21, 2007. Vigil, a solo exhibition, was displayed at the Exeter Phoenix Art Gallery, Exeter, U.K., from March 17 to April 28, 2007. Ms. Hunt gave a public lecture there March 17. Finding the Invisible (a three-person exhibition), showed at the Stride Gallery, Calgary, April 6 to May 12, 2007. She gave three a lecture titled “Who knit you?” Knitting and Sewing Resistance to War, University of Calgary, March 29, 2007, and a lecture at the Alberta College of Art and Design, March 28, 2007. Her images and text also appeared in By Hand, Shu Hung and Joseph Magliaro, editors, Princeton Architectural Press, New York 2007. p. 90-93 (images and text); and Small Dresses at Rideau Hall appeared in Art at Work, Victoria Henry, editor, Goose Lane Editions, Fredericton, New Brunswick 2007, page 13.
Dr. Christopher Kovacs, Medicine, recently visited the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and as part of their Bone Disease Program monthly scientific lecture series gave an invited lecture entitled Breast, brain and bone circuit: regulation of bone metabolism during reproduction.
