Students pick union leaders
The MUN Students’ Union held its council election last month, but only two positions were on the ballot. Students voted for the positions of executive director of student life and executive director of finance.
Barnes House President Bradley Russell was elected to the student life position.
Business student Nick Eisnor was elected executive director finance.
But the real story was the lack of contestants for every other position.
The three other executive seats were acclaimed. James Farrell will be executive director external affairs, Stephanie Power will be executive director advocacy and Stella Magalios will be executive director campaigns.
23 board-of-directors positions were acclaimed and 15 left vacant.
The students’ union changed its structure earlier this semester. It opted to do away with the old presidential structure and work as a board of directors.
