Not teed off
Over 150 golfers on some 30 teams teed off in the 8th annual Memorial University Scholarship Golf Tournament on Sept. 13 at The Wilds at Salmonier. Over the years, the tournament has raised over $140,000 in an endowment and awarded over $26,000 in scholarships. Scotiabank Commercial Banking is the corporate partner for the tournament. At the tournament’s closing banquet $1,200 scholarships were presented to five deserving students by Len Butt, Senior Relationship Manager, Scotiabank Commercial Banking, Newfoundland and Labrador, and retired faculty member Dr. Bill Redden, who serves as tournament co-ordinator.
