Obituary
Robert G. (Bob) Ducey
Bob Ducey, a staff member at The Works, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Health Sciences Centre, aged 44 years.
Dr. Thomas Merton Mongar
Dr. Thomas Mongar died in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, on June 6 of a prolonged illness, aged 70. He completed a BA at the University of Montana and continued his studies at the University of Oregon where he obtained a PhD in Political Science. He taught at the University of
Washington, Queens College in New York City, McMaster University in Burlington, Ont., and Memorial University in where he became known as a student rights advocate, a radical thinker and controversial critic of government policy.
Dr. Felix Park
Felix Park, retired from the Department of French and Spanish, passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, June 10, 2006, aged 70 years. Born in Hamilton, Scotland, Dr. Park was Honorary Consul of Canada in St-Pierre-Miquelon. His loss will be keenly felt by countless friends across the world, among which a great number of former students from Dr. Park’s time as professor of French at Memorial and founder and director of the Frecker Institute in St-Pierre-Miquelon.
