New communications co-ordinator in DELT

Kristine Hamlyn has rejoined Memorial University as communications co-ordinator with Distance Education and Learning Technologies (DELT), a cross-appointed position with the Division of Marketing and Communications. A new position to DELT, Ms. Hamlyn’s responsibilities will include writing for a variety of media, developing promotional materials, media planning, internal and external communications, and fostering DELT’s overall vision to position Memorial University as the national leader in course development, creative development, utilization, and application of technology for e-learning.
Ms. Hamlyn returns to Memorial University from the private sector having held the position of communications consultant with marketing and communications agency Colour Creative Persuasion. While at Colour, Ms. Hamlyn worked on print and multimedia projects with the Marine Institute, Petro-Canada, Exxon-Mobil, The Home Depot, Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation and more.
In her previous role as communications co-ordinator with Memorial’s Office of Student Recruitment, Ms. Hamlyn successfully developed several award-winning promotional materials designed to inform and attract specific audiences and acted as project lead in the development of several radio and television advertising campaigns.
Ms. Hamlyn has also put her skills to good use in the non-profit sector, having volunteered with both the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Newfoundland and Labrador chapter of the Canadian Arthritis Society. Her academic background consists of a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial, followed by post-graduate studies in public relations at Humber College in Toronto, Ont.
