Papers & Presentations
Maria Rodriguez and Justyna Ciszewska-Carr,
students in the Faculty of Education, along with Dr. Elizabeth Murphy,
associate professor, delivered two papers at the sixth International Educational
Technology Conference, Famagusta, North Cyprus, in April: Perspectives on Virtual
Schooling in a Canadian Context; and Issues in the Content Analysis of Online
Asynchronous Discussions. Both papers appear in the conference proceedings.
Dr. Jerome Delaney, assistant professor of educational administration
in the Faculty of Education, recently presented a paper titled The Canadian
Charter of Rights and Freedoms: What Teachers and School Administrators Should
Know at the annual conference of the Canadian Association for the Practical
Study of Law in Education (CAPSLE) in Montreal.
Dr. Robert Greenwood, director of the Harris Centre, gave
the following presentations: Clearing the Path for Saskatchewan’s Future, Municipalities
and Rural Development, March 7, at the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities
2006 Annual Convention in Regina; Sustainable Rural Development How to Optimize
the Ecological Footprint, on March 8, at the Banff Conference on Agriculture,
Food and the Environment, Alberta Institute of Agrologists, Banff, Alberta;
and Bridging the Gap Between Researchers and Policy Makers, April 12, Institute
of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC), St. John’s.
Dr. Gerard Curtis, Fine Arts, Sir Wilfred Grenfell College,
presented a paper titled The Colour of Gold: Ossifying, Disneyfying and “Aestheticizing”
Art and Architecture in Dawson City, Yukon, at the Couleurs et lumières du Nord
- Färger och ljus i norr conference in Stockholm on April 22.
