Business highlights alumni

For years Sharon Duggan, vice-president, Customer Services, Transformation and Development at Aliant, and Paul Burt, owner of P. S. Atlantic Limited (Paint Shop), have been quietly building successful careers and companies. The Faculty of Business Administration will reward these two inconspicuous agents of change with its most prestigious awards at the annual Partners Dinner tonight.

Mr. Burt, B.Comm. (Co-op)(Hons.) ‘86, will receive the P. J. Gardiner Institute’s 2006 Newfoundland and Labrador Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Ms. Duggan, B.Sc. ‘75 and MBA ‘93, will receive the faculty’s 2005 Alumni Honour Award. The award recognizes the accomplishments of business graduates and the contributions they make to the faculty and university.
