Dave Bonnell, head of the School of Fisheries of the Marine Institute, has been appointed to the inaugural Fish Processing Licensing Board. The provincial government established the board in response to industry calls for changes in the way fish processing policy decisions are made.

Dr. Hesham Marzouk, Engineering, was one of six keynote speakers from around the world recently invited to present at an international conference in Cairo, Egypt. The International Conference on Future Vision and Challenges for Urban Development took place in December and was part of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Housing and Building Research Center’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Dr. Marzouk, who is also the chair of Civil Engineering, also received an award of recognition for 20 years of research contributions and collaborations with Cairo University and Helwan University, also in Cairo.
