Out and About

Lillian Bursey of St. John’s, right, is the winner of the Newfoundland Quarterly’s 2010-2011 subscription prize, the beautiful landscape painting Grand Bruit by Jean Claude Roy (value $3100). Anyone who bought, renewed or gave a subscription to the NQ had a chance to win the painting. It is the fourth such gift Roy has given the magazine. “He’s an extremely generous supporter – not just of us, but of Newfoundland culture,” said Joan Sullivan, NQ’s managing editor, left. “His work is so lovely, and his association with us makes for a wonderful promotion.”
