Marilyn Beaton was appointed acting director of nursing, effective until Oct. 31. The appointment was made by the Board of Regents.

Edward Evelly, manager, Medical Education, Laboratory Support Services in the Faculty of Medicine, was elected president of the Association for Multidiscipline Education in the Health Sciences (AMEHS) for 2003/04. AMEHS is an international organization of educational support personnel providing teaching laboratory, medical simulation, standardized patient, core research support and anatomical pathology services to medical, dentistry, nursing, allied health and veterinary schools.

Dr. Wayne Fife will serve as head of the Department of Anthropology starting on Sept. 1, 2003 until Aug. 31, 2006.

Dr. Noreen Golfman, Department of English Language and Literature, was appointed associate dean of the School of Graduate Studies, effective Aug. 1, 2003 to July 31, 2006. The appointment was made by the Board of Regents.

Dr. Catherine Popadiuk, Obstetrics and Gynecology, has been appointed assistant dean for Student Affairs in the Faculty of Medicine. In her new administrative position, Dr. Popadiuk looks forward to helping students make the transition from undergraduate student to physician.
