Melvin Woodford
Melvin Woodford, retired from the Department of Facilities
Management, passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences
Centre on Saturday, Aug. 30, aged 68 years. Leaving to mourn,
his loving wife Stella; daughters: Brenda (Paul) Duff, Ottawa,
Judy (Paul) O`Leary, Paradise, Carol Ann Boland, Kilbride,
Grace (Randy) Butler, St. John`s; son: George, Clarke’s
Beach; sister: Grace (Rev. Rupert) King, Toronto; brother:
Reginald (Verona) Woodford, Manuels; five grandchildren:
Jaime Lynn, Paul, Heather, Jason and Rebekkah; two great-grandchildren:
Robyn and Lucas; also a large circle of other relatives
and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory
may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Clarke’s
Beach United Church Memorial Fund.
Dr. Andrejs Liepins
Dr. Andrejs Liepins, professor of cell sciences and immunology
in the Division of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine,
passed away suddenly in Latvia on July 19, 2003. Leaving
to mourn his loving wife Carmelle and son Alexander, his
mother Marija, brother Juris (Eleana), nieces, nephews,
friends and colleagues. A memorial service to be held later
at a date to be announced.
John Henry William Burry
Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday,
Sept. 12, 2003, John Burry, recently retired professor of
mathematics and statistics at Memorial University. Leaving
to mourn loving wife Myrtle (nee Tucker), daughter Dr. Dana
(Brent Boan) Burry, son Dr. Brett (Michelle), both of Courtney,
B.C., special mother-in-law Gladys Tucker, St. John`s, sisters
Elizabeth Talarico, Penetanguishene, Ont., Jocelyn (Keith)
Manley, Stratford, Ont., Jennifer (Doug) Caines, Pools Cove,
Nfld.; sisters-in-law Laura Burry, Petty Harbour, Carol
(Michael) Nolan, London, Ont., Patricia Tucker, Bedford,
N.S.; brothers-in-law Burnell (Shelly) Tucker of London,
England, Norman (Netta) Tucker, Gander, Fred Tucker, Milton,
Ont., also a large circle of other relatives and friends.
