Dr. Allan Connolly (L), president
of Physicians for Global Survival, visited Memorial last week
to spread the word about the health consequences of nuclear
war. He gave a public lecture titled Connecting the Dots: Surviving
Nuclear War in 2003, and also spent Friday, Oct. 10, talking
to medical students. His visit was part of activities hosted
by the MUN Medical Students’ Society and the Division
of Community Health featuring an exhibition of posters and video
series from the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum of Japan. Monica
Ott (R), a second-year medical student, was the main organizer
of the week’s activities. |
