WAYNE NESBIT, Education, delivered a paper titled

Network Conference on Learning, Institute of Education,
University of London, London, England, July 15-18, 2003.
DR. GEORGE ROSE, chair of Fisheries Conservation,
attended several conferences in Labrador and New Zealand.
At the Northern Fisheries Forum, L’Anse-au-Clair,
Labrador, Nov. 19-20, he presented a paper titled Cod and
Other Northern Fisheries. In New Zealand, at the request
of its Ministry of Fisheries, he attended the Deepwater
Fishery Assessment Working Group and provided the external
peer review for the Orange Roughy survey and stock assessment,
and plans for the proposed survey in 2004, Nov. 26, Wellington,
New Zealand. He also presented a paper, with co-author and
former student Dr. Stephane Gauthier, titled Acoustic-Trawl
Survey Methods for Redfishes (Sebastes spp.) off the Grand
Bank of Newfoundland, to the Workshop on the Assessment
and Management of Deepwater Fisheries, Nov. 27-29, Dunedin,
New Zealand, and acted as rapporteur for the session on
Technological Innovation at Deep Sea 2003, an international
conference on deep sea fisheries sponsored by the UN, FAO,
and several national governments, Dec. 1-5, Queensland,
New Zealand.
