Dr. James Feehan, Department of Economics
and director of the J. R. Smallwood Centre for Newfoundland
and Labrador Studies, presented a paper at the International
Forum for Macro Issues, a conference sponsored by the Economic
and Social Research Institute of Japan's Cabinet Office. Dr.
Feehan’s presentation was titled Public Inputs and the
Private Economy: Some Conceptual and Policy-Theoretic Issues.
In addition, Dr. Feehan served as a panellist in the forum's
final session, which dealt with sustainable economic growth
and structural reform in Japan, where he spoke on efficient
fiscal management and public infrastructure. The forum was
held Feb. 16-18, 2004, in Tokyo.
