James P. Feehan, Economics, presented a paper titled
Public Infrastructure as Common Property at the annual conference
of the Canadian Economics Association, which was held June
3-6 at Ryerson University in Toronto.
Dr. Rob Greenwood, director of the new Centre
of Regional Development Studies (CORDS), has been presenting
on CORDS to interested stakeholders around the province. On
Monday, June 28, he presented at the Labrador West Chamber
of Commerce. On June 3, he presented to the Newfoundland and
Labrador Association of Community Business Development Corporations
in Stephenville and to the Humber Valley Centre of Environmental
Excellence (CEE), Steering Committee in Corner Brook. On June
4, he presented to the Newfoundland and Labrador Regional
Economic Development Association in Carbonear. Dr. Greenwood
also participated in the following: invited speaker, panel
discussion – What is Good Evaluation? Canadian Evaluation
Society, NL Chapter, St. John’s, June 7; invited keynote
presentation, Governance and Regional Development in Atlantic
Canada: Informing a Focus for Cape Breton Island, at the University
College Cape Breton; and The State of Cape Breton Island Annual
Conference 2004: Governance and Economic Development, in Sydney,
June 17. Dr. Greenwood invited speaker, Partnerships, Collaboration
and Horizontal Policy Development: Scars from 2 Provinces,
to the Ontario Public Service, Expert Policy Forum –
Growing Strong Rural and Northern Communities: Partnerships,
Collaboration and Horizontal Policy Development, Toronto and
webcast to 10 locations in Northern and Southern Ontario,
June 23.
