| Senate has recommended
that students who miss classes to take part in a national
day of action not be punished by their academic units or by
individual professors.
At it’s regular meeting held Jan. 13, Senate approved
the following motion proposed by MUN Student's Union and the
Grenfell College Student's Union: "That Senate encourages
academic units and professors to be flexible in making alternate
arrangements, including re-scheduling examinations and the
deadlines for submission of assignments, for students who
are absent from classes between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb.
4, 2004, so that they may freely participate in the day of
action with no fear of academic repercussions."
On this day, students in Newfoundland and Labrador will be
participating in rallies and events in conjunction with students,
faculty and other organizations from across Canada. |
