T. A. Loeffler, Human Kinetics and Recreation, recently
presented a paper titled Crossing the Blue Line: Women's Hockey
Experiences at Mid-life, at the Women’s Hockey: Gender
Issues On and Off the Ice conference at the St. Mary's University
Centre for the Study of Sport and Community Health. The conference
was held just proceeding the recent women’s world hockey
championships. The paper presented preliminary findings from
research that Dr. Natalie Beausoleil, Community Health, and
Dr. Loeffler are conducting in St. John’s.
Dr. Walter C. Okshevsky, Education/Philosophy,
presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Philosophy
of Education Society, held this year at Toronto, Ontario,
March 26-29. The title of the paper was On The Epistemic Grounds
of Moral Discourse and Moral Education: An Examination of
Juergen Habermas’s ‘Discourse Ethics’. The
paper will be published in Philosophy of Education 2004, edited
by Dr. Christopher Higgins, Urbana-Champaign: University of
Illinois, 2005.
