q DR.
FEREIDOON SHAHIDI, Biochemistry, gave a plenary presentation on
Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
at the Third World Congress on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants for Human
Welfare (WOCMAP III). The conference was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand,
Feb. 3-7, 2003. Dr. Shahidi also presented an invited seminar on Marine
Oils: Chemistry, Food Applications and Health Effects at Kasetsart University,
Bangkok, Thailand, on Feb. 8.
q DR. JIM WYSE, Faculty of Business Administration, attended the 32nd annual Atlantic Schools of Business Conference, held at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Nov. 7-9, 2002, and presented a paper titled Location-Based, Web-Enabled, Mobile Commerce: The Repository Management Problem. The paper was also published in the conference proceedings. Dr. Wyse was this year's chair of the Information Systems Section of the conference.
