Dr.
Carl Wallace Norris
Dr. Carl Norris, a faculty member in the Department of Math
and Stats, passed peacefully away at Brookfield Cottage Hospital,
Brookfield, Bonavista Bay, on Friday, June 13, age 59 years.
Predeceased by his parents George and Maggie Norris. Leaving
to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Joan
(nee Spurrell), three sons; Ian of Aurora, Ontario, Dwayne
(Traci) of Cologne, Germany, Warren (Cathy) of Sheffield,
England; three grandchildren: Coale, Joshua, and Dalton. One
sister, Louise (Frank) Winsor of Bloomfield, Bonavista Bay
and a large number of other relatives and friends. Flowers
most graciously accepted or donations in his memory may be
made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic.
Dr. Millicent (Blake) Loder
Millicent Loder passed away on March 7, 2003, at the Paddon
Nursing Home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. She was
88. Mrs. Loder had a lifetime connection to the International
Grenfell Association and was awarded an honorary doctor of
laws degree from Memorial in 1980. Predeceased by her husband
Sidney, daughter Carly and grandson Christopher. Leaving to
mourn son David and wife Carolyn, granddaughter Melynda and
husband Colin McNeil, grandson Quinn and Melynda’s mother,
Roberta, brothers Bruce, George and Morris, sisters Nellie
and Dolly, also special niece Millicent Ryan, and special
nephew Terry Loder and many relatives and friends in Labrador
and St. John’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the Paddon Nursing Home or the Badger Relief Fund.
