Memorial University and the Memorial University of Newfoundland Faculty Association (MUNFA), the union representing the institution’s 750 faculty, librarians and co-operative education coordinators, have reached a tentative deal on a new collective agreement. Negotiations had been ongoing since last fall. The tentative agreement will run until Aug. 31, 2005, and is now subject to ratification by both the university’s Board of Regents and union members. Both parties expressed pleasure with the deal and will recommend it for ratification. As is normal practice, details of the agreement will not be released until after ratification.
