FACULTY OF MEDICINE
Memorial University is Atlantic Canada’s leading comprehensive
university and offers one of the region’s most important
research facilities. The Faculty of Medicine is housed in
the modern Health Sciences Centre on the university campus,
along with the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy and the Health
Care Corporation of St. John’s.
In addition to a four-year MD program, postgraduate medical
training is offered in programs leading to certification by
either the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The Faculty
also provides programs leading to the degrees of M.Sc. and

The Dean of Medicine is expected to develop and articulate
an inspiring strategic vision for the future of the Faculty.
The incumbent will provide strong academic leadership, sound
administration and be an effective advocate for health issues.
Possessing a strong track record either as a clinician or
in the fields of research or community health, you will also
have a solid educational background combined with experience
in leading and successfully managing large complex organizations.
It is anticipated that the appointment will take effect on
