The new Husky Energy Chair in Oil and Gas Research was celebrated
in part through the planting of a Chinese dogberry tree just outside
R. Gushue Hall on the St. John’s Campus. Assisting with
the planting were: (L-R) Campus Enforcement and Patrol (CEP) Honour
Guard member Debbie Noseworthy; Lt.Gov. Dr. Edward Roberts; President
Axel Meisen; Heather Lau; Husky Energy President and CEO John
Lau; Industry Minister Judy Foote; Energy Minister Walter Noel;
and CEP Honour Guard member Craig Stevenson. The tree, a variety
that thrives both locally and in China, where the parent company
of Husky Energy is located, was supplied by the Memorial University
Botanical Garden.
