Husky chair supports research excellence

Historic partnership for Memorial

Sod turning ceremony at St. John's Campus

The new Husky Energy Chair in Oil and Gas Research was celebrated in part through the planting of a Chinese dogberry tree just outside R. Gushue Hall on the St. John’s Campus. Assisting with the planting were: (L-R) Campus Enforcement and Patrol (CEP) Honour Guard member Debbie Noseworthy; Lt.Gov. Dr. Edward Roberts; President Axel Meisen; Heather Lau; Husky Energy President and CEO John Lau; Industry Minister Judy Foote; Energy Minister Walter Noel; and CEP Honour Guard member Craig Stevenson. The tree, a variety that thrives both locally and in China, where the parent company of Husky Energy is located, was supplied by the Memorial University Botanical Garden.
