Dean
Division of Basic Medical Sciences
Faculty of Medicine
The Associate Dean of
Basic Medical Sciences performs similar activities to a Departmental Head
in overseeing the activities of an interdisciplinary group of biomedical
scientists. The Associate Dean represents the Basic Medical Sciences faculty
in their dealings with the Dean of Medicine, other units in the University
and at national meetings. The Associate Dean is expected to show leadership
in promoting the interests of the Division with respect to scholarship,
faculty renewal, space and resources.
The Division includes 36 full time faculty, including 6 joint appointed
members, organized in a non-departmental basis. The major research groups
and graduate programs include : Cancer, Cardiovascular, Immunology and
Neuroscience. The Division is currently undergoing a phase of active recruitment.
The successful applicant will have an active research program, demonstrated
leadership capability and a commitment to fostering excellence in research
and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Interested applicants

submit a detailed curriculum vitae, a description of research interests
