This monthly report is
compiled from information made available by the Campus Enforcement and
Patrol unit. CEP is located in the Services Building on Memorials
St. Johns campus, telephone 737-4100. At Sir Wilfred Grenfell College,
the security office is Room AS-280, Arts and Science Building, telephone
637-6210. At the Marine Institute, Ridge Road, telephone 778-0456 to reach
the security office.
The figures given below are based on the number of reports made to CEP
during December 2001. Incidents reported do not necessarily result in
criminal charges being laid; this depends on the outcome of an investigation.

December
2001
Two of the fire alarms in December involved fire. There was a small
stove-top fire at Cartier Court Dec. 26. A panel box caught fire at the
Kinetics Building Dec. 20. It was quickly extinguished.
A man was removed from a Metrobus at the University Centre for
disorderly behaviour. There was a call for assistance at the Breezeway
Dec. 14 when two men were refused entry. No charges were laid. There was
a report of people throwing rocks on Westerland Road.
A suspicious person was reported outside Burke House Dec. 6. CEP
investigated the complaint but no one was found.
A purse was reported stolen from the Arts and Administration Building
Dec. 12.
There was a break and entry reported at the Breezeway Dec. 3. Two
suspects were arrested.
During December at Grenfell College, there were three fire alarms and
three gallery/vault intrusion alarms sounded. All were investigated and
found to be accidental.
