Dr. Kristina Szutor of Memorials School of Music has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Classical Recording of the Year for her CD Bookends In Time. Dr. Ranjit Chandra, Medicine, was an invited guest at a dinner hosted by the president of the United States and Laura Bush on Friday Nov. 30. The black-tie function was held at the National Building Museum and was followed by a short performance by the National Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Chandra has been a consultant to the National Institutes of Health, the National Academy of Sciences, and the previous Task Force on Health chaired by Hilary Clinton. Since 1992, he has been a Carnegie Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University. He is also a member of the inner circle of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.
