The
eyes have it

Kent Jones third
year visual arts class displayed their art work in nooks and
crannies all over the Corner Brook campus during finals week.
These pieces were preparatory works to ready them for the independent
projects theyll undertake in their final year of the visual
arts program. Works ranged from paintings, photographs and sculptures
to sound pieces, collages and drawings. This piece is by Mike
Hogan.

every second Sunday starting at 8 a.m. Offered by Friends of

ST. JOHNS
The Art Gallery of Newfoundland andLabrador presents an exhibition
of entriesto the provincial Arts and Letters Competiion. Gallery
hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. and Friday from
7-10 p.m.
Selections from the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labradors
Permanent Collection presenting various portrayals of
the human figure in art, rendered in a variety of media, curated
by Gabrielle Kemp, is on display until May 20, 2001. Gallery
hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. and Friday from
7-10 p.m.
The Botanical Garden is offering Newfoundland gardening workshops
in May and June. Contact the Garden at 737-8590 for more information.
The Botanical Garden hosts a family fun day every Sunday
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a full day of fun and activities
for the whole family. Drop in. Activities include childrens
arts and crafts, exploration and trail activities, a nature hike,
garden tours, puppet shows, face painting, and story time. Contact
the Garden at 737-8590 for more information. In the event of
inclement weather, a suitable indoor program will be available.
The Botanical Garden hosts a parent and tot preschool program
every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Contact the Garden
