DR. CHRISTOPHER KOVACS, Medicine, and colleagues Dr. Nancy Manley (Medical College of Georgia), Drs. T. John Martin and Jane Moseley (University of Melbourne) and Dr. Hank Kronenberg (Harvard Medical School) are authors of the article Fetal Parathyroids Are Not Required to Maintain Placental Calcium Transport, published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation 2001; 2001;107(8):1007-1015.

DR. GRAHAM SHORROCKS, English, has been asked to speak about Newfoundland English at The Celtic Englishes III/Englisch in den keltischen Ländern III: International Colloquium on the Celtic Englishes, Institute of English and American Studies, University of Potsdam, Germany, in September. Dr. Shorrocks’ visit is being supported by an award from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation in Cologne. Dr. Shorrocks also recently published a book chapter titled “Purpose, Theory and Method in English Dialectology: Towards a More Objective History of the Discipline.” It appeared in Debating Dialect: Essays on the Philosophy of Dialect Study, edited by Robert Penhallurick. Dr. Shorrocks also co-authored Chapter 5, “Theory, Objectivity and the Discipline: Further Discussion.”
