KEITH NICOL, an associate professor in Geography/Environmental Studies at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, recently gave an invited presentation to the Canadian AvalancheAssociation at their annual conference. It was titled The 2000-2001 Winter Snow and Avalanche situation in Western Newfoundland. The conference was held from May 8-11, 2001 in Penticton, B.C.

DR. DEREK BURTON, Biology and Ocean Sciences Centre, presented a paper titled in Vitro Effect of Osmotic Concentration on Melanophore Responsiveness in Winter Flounder, Pseudopleuronectes Americanus, at the 40th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society of Zoologists held at Laurentian University, Sudbury, Ontario, May 9-13. The paper was co-authored by K. D. Linthorne.
DR. MICHAEL SHERRICK, Psychology, presented a poster titled Induced Visual Motion and Surround Shape, at the recent meetings of the Midwestern Psychological Association in Chicago.
