Dr. William
Threlfall
Dr. William Threlfall, professor emeritus, passed away Jan. 5,
2001, in the Q.E. II Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax.
Born in Preston, Lancashire, England, Dr. Threlfall taught in
the Department of Biology at Memorial for over 30 years. For
the last four years he was an adjunct professor at the Nova Scotia
Agriculture College in Truro. He lived in Newfoundland with his
family for 31 years and considered himself a proud Newfoundlander.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Anita Gallagher;
daughters: Jane Threlfall and Jim Philmon, Dartmouth, Sue and
Scott Wareham, Clarenville, Newfoundland; beloved grandson, Joshua
William Philmon; sister, Enid Threlfall, Preston, England; brother
John and Elspeth Threlfall, Preston, England.
Leonard
Eric Scott
Leonard Scott, a former employee with Planning and Works, passed
away at the Miller Centre in St. Johns Dec. 23, 2000, in
his 84th year. Predeceased by his wife Joan and son Douglas.
Leaving to mourn daughter Judy and son-in-law Bill; son Ted;
sisters: Manetta of
St. Johns and Dorothy, Gladys and Peggy of Ontario; five
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Michael
Francis Dyer
Michael Dyer, a retired staff member from the Ocean Sciences
Centre, passed away Jan. 13, 2001, age 65 years. Leaving to mourn
his beloved wife Rosella; daughters: Colleen (Gus Manuel), Dolores
(John Harvey), Dianne and two precious grandsons: Cody Harvey
and Liam Manuel. Also leaving to mourn his brothers: Bill (Ruth)
and Johnny (Linda); his sisters: Bridie (Kevin Power), Nell Devereaux,
Anne (Fred Kendall), Loretta (James Hickey), Aggie Dyer and Madonna
(Ray Bonia); as well as many beloved relatives and treasured
friends.
