![]() (January 25, 2001, Gazette) Mandy L. Woodland, a masters student supervised by Dr. Christopher Kovacs, Medicine, has received the Dr. Alfred Burness Graduate Student Award, valued at $1,000. Her work is in the area of bone and mineral research. Two Education professors were recently honoured by the Council for Exceptional Children. Dr. Norm Garlie received the Donald G. Warren Outstanding Achievement award for his work in teaching and leadership. Dr. Wayne Nesbit received the Sam Rabinovitch Evaluation Research Award for his book Black Eyes and Bruised Souls: A Portrait of Bullying. Both awards were presented at a Council for Exceptional Children dinner in Montreal on Nov. 17, 2000. |
