Robert Nichols has been appointed acting director of the Department of Human Resources until a permanent appointment is made.

Dr. Gerhard Bassler (L), History, and Dr. Hans Rollmann, Religious Studies, were recently honoured with the German Canadian Friendship Award for the year 2000. The prestigious award was presented in December by Dr. Juergen Poehlmann, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to and support of German-Canadian relations.
