World’s a stage

Matt Roebothon, (L) and Kerry Shortall, with Debbie CooperPhoto by Chris Hammond

The English department is offering a new course for drama students, acting for the camera. The course will introduce drama students to the differences between acting on stage and for the camera. With the help of staff at CBC TV studios in St. John’s, students will explore the documentary, the commercial, the voice-over, the public service announcement and the interview. Twelve students participated in the pilot project, coordinated by Denyse Lynde of the English department. Here and Now host Debbie Cooper (R), who worked with students, chats with students Matt Roebothon, (L) and Kerry Shortall.
