LOIS BATEMAN, Environmental Science, Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, and DR. MICHAEL COLLINS, Biology, attended the Eighth International Symposium on Tardigrada in Copenhagen, Denmark, July 30 to Aug 5, 2000, and presented two papers: A Preliminary Report on the Tardigrades of Newfoundland, Canada (Bateman and Collins); and The Biogeography of Tardigrades of Newfoundland, Canada (Collins and Bateman).

SARAH ROSE, PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics and holder of SSHRC doctoral fellowship, presented a paper titled Two Versions of the Sanskrit Urva Myth: The Role of Ambiguity in Ancient Man-Made Language, at the 36th annual Congress of Asian and North African Studies in Montreal from Aug. 27-Sept. 2. Ms Rose also chaired the session titled Vedic Values and Practices.
