Vera Smith
Vera Smith passed away peacefully at the Hoyles Home on the morning of June 25, 2000, age 72, after a long and hard-fought struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Gunther Hartmann
Dr. Gunther Hartmann, head, Department of Political Science, passed away suddenly on June 24, 2000 at the age of 58. Touched and loved by all he came in contact with, his memory will live on through all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his wife Sylvelin, daughter Alexandra (Mark Bailey), son Andreas, mother Susanne, and mother-in-law Gretl. Donations for a scholarship in his name may be made to the Political Science Department.
Dr. George Albert Hickman
Dr. George A. Hickman, dean emeritus, from the Faculty of Education, passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on June 27, 2000, at age 91. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, wife Mary (Martin); sons: John (Marina), Bill (Connie); grandchildren: Robert, Jennifer, Ashley, Melody; brothers: Jack, Rev. Frederick (Jean); sisters: Clara, Elsie (Rev. Dr. A.S. Butt). As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
