A series of 28 new interpretative panels were unveiled June 15 at Memorial’s Botanical Garden. The panels, designed to enhance visitors’ appreciation of the natural area and planted gardens at the Botanical Garden, were funded by $25,000 from the Canada/Newfoundland Agreement on Economic Renewal’s Community Museums Initiative. Further funding is being sought to develop another 12 panels to complete the series. Dr. Axel Meisen (R), president of Memorial, and Dr. Wilf Nicholls, director of the Botanical Garden, were on hand for the unveiling.
