Newfoundland works of art are now available to anyone with a computer and a connection to the Web. Lt.-Gov. Dr. Maxwell House (L) recently launched the Selected Images from the Permanent Collection site at the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Web site contains a significant selection of images of Newfoundland and Labrador artists drawn from the AGNL's collection. The project was funded by Industry Canada's SchoolNet Digital Collections program and co-ordinated by the Smallwood Centre for Newfoundland Studies and the Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Web Site. The site contains over 400 images of work by such Newfoundland and Labrador artists as Christopher Pratt, Josephina Kalleo, Gerald Squires, Mary Pratt and Don Wright, among others. The images can be viewed at the SchoolNet Digital Collections site located at http://www.schoolnet.ca/collections.
