Students from the Faculty of Business Administration held their 32nd annual Business Day conference Feb. 7 at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre. Over200 students, faculty, and members of the business community attended the full-day event which featured presentations by local and national business figures. Sharing their views on the theme Survival Skills for a Changing Economy were, among others: David Stewart- Patterson of the Business Council on National Issues; Wayne Sales of Canadian Tire; Dr. Jim Rush of the Bank of Montreal's Institute for Learning; Memorial alumna Moya Cahill of MNC Group; and alumnus and faculty member Dr. Jim Barnes of the Bristol Group of Companies. Business students Jennifer Gorman, Ian Snow and David Natsheh co-chaired this year's conference.

A student and a professor at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College picked up medals at the Atlantic Province's Cross-Country Ski Championships held in Corner Brook Feb. 1-2. Damika Squires, an environmental science student from Corner Brook, won two gold medals in the junior women's category, while Prof. Keith Nicol, Geography, won two bronze medals, one in the classic (10 kilometre) race, the other in the skating (15 kilometre) race. The competition attracted more than 110 skiers.
