Digital and Social Media Program

Digital and social media are not just marketing tools, they have become essential components of many departments within organizations including Public Relations, Human Resources, Customer Service,  and Competitive Intelligence. This evolution in digital and social media is matched by the evolution of the ‘Digital Marketing Program’ into the ‘Digital and Social Media Program’.

To date, over 500 participants have completed over 2500 modules at locations throughout North America. Our newly designed program has an intensified focus on strategy and tactics, and on helping organizations discover how to use digital and social media to enhance their goals and objectives.

In addition to three new seminars, the Digital and Social Media Program now features one day seminars focused on particular industries and/or professions providing training and guidance specific to those areas.

The Digital and Social Media Program is comprised of three Seminars:

Digital Communication and Advertising  September 15, ,22, 29, October 6, 20, 27  (6 evening sessions) 

Metrics, Measurement, and Analytics  Nov. 3, 10, 17, Dec. 1, 8, 15 (6 evening sessions)  

Digital and Social Media Strategy and Tactics  Nov 12-14  (daytime)

After the completion of each seminar you will recieve a certificate of completion, and after completing all three seminars you will receive a Certificate of Achievement in Digital and Social Media. 

 There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ deployment of digital and social media tools within organizations. Every organization requires a unique strategy and tactical plan consistent with their specific goals and objectives. However there are some general tools that are more appropriate to some industries. Many industries have unique requirements for privacy, legislative requirements, target audience nuances, or simply specific demands and needs that require special attention. Different occupations within organizations also have different requirements in their use of digital and social media to allow them to accomplish their jobs effectively.

 To address these unique needs, the 1-Day Industry Series is available as a client specific program allowing us to provide you with guidance and suggestions specific to your company and industry without competitors being in on the conversation. During the 1-day session you will be provided with industry specific digital tools, key objectives that can be achieved through digital and social media, a review of your existing deployments and industry examples of successful application.

Instructors

Lyle Wetsch

Lyle Wetsch is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Memorial University of Newfoundland.  With over 100 presentations and publications in the past 10 years, his research has been published in the Marketing Education Review, the Journal of Advertising Education, the Journal of Virtual World Research, the Journal of Relationship Marketing and the International Journal of Electronic Marketing and Retailing.

Lyle is actively involved in providing presentations and consulting with businesses on various elements of Internet Marketing, especially Social Media and Social Networks.  He has assisted businesses and organizations with the development, design and implementation of their Social and Digital Media Strategies. He also serves on several Advisory Boards including the Memorial University Social Networking Committee.

Through the Gardiner Centre at the Faculty of Business Administration Lyle has designed the Digital Marketing Program now renamed Digital and Social Media Program and offers it in locations throughout North America.
