Bridget Duggan was born at Cape Broyle on Christmas Day, 1900, to John and Mary (nee Walsh) Lahey. She married Leach's 1951 informant Patrick (Paddy) Duggan and raised nine children: six boys and three girls. "Mrs. Bridge" died on Oct. 8, 1993. From her, Leach collected "The Slaney Side."
