Electricity and Heating

Newfoundland Power is the sole provider of electricity in Newfoundland and Labrador. Average electricity costs are difficult estimate and are dependent on usage and size of household. Once you have selected an existing house or apartment, Newfoundland Power can provide previous electricity consumption patterns for that location. Some homes in the city have a heat pump or heating furnace that requires the use of heating oil. A full listing of home heating providers can be found in the Yellow Pages.

Home Telephone, Mobile Phone, Television and Internet

There are two main home telephone, television and internet providers in St. John's: Bell Aliant and Rogers. Both of these service providers offers home/mobile telephone, television and internet services. The costs associated with these services depend on the type and the number of services purchased. Bell Aliant and Rogers both offer bundling packages to help you save money.
